Palimpseste géologique VIII

Felt-tip pen drawings from the 1966 Mémoire technique of the Société Géologique de France (Les Chitinozoaires; techniques d'études, morphologie et classification; Philippe Taugourdeau).

On this page from the classification table of chitinozoans, the black outlines converge, extend and delineate irregular shapes. The resulting network partially covers the original text and grid, whilst allowing them to show through.

Between linework and counter-form, the marks compose a dense pattern, straddling the boundary between writing and organic forms.
