Palimpseste géologique VII

Felt-tip pen drawings from the 1966 *Mémoire technique* of the Société Géologique de France (*Les Chitinozoaires; techniques d'études, morphologie et classification; Philippe Taugourdeau).
This plate features a network of black lines and interlocking shapes, punctuated by gold highlights.

The lines partially cover the printed text and figures, without completely obscuring them. Two systems overlap: that of the scientific document, which organises and describes, and that of a graphic script whose logic is gradually revealed, without being immediately decipherable.

As in a palimpsest, the earlier traces remain visible beneath the new inscriptions. The page becomes a meeting place for layers of signs, different temporalities and various ways of giving form to that which eludes us.
