Prima

Inspired by the Lady of Brassempouy, one of the oldest known depictions of a human face, Prima offers a free interpretation of it, carved from serpentine.

The deep, dark stone, veined with mineral hues, echoes the antiquity of this figure from the Paleolithic era. The refined features and geometric hairstyle reinterpret its characteristic traits in a contemporary form.

Its title, Prima, evokes both this distant origin and the first incarnation of this figure in my work.
