Parure III, or Balances in Suspense
Taut metal lines, suspended discs, a play of fragile balances: Parure III seems to float between ornament and construction.
This sculpture is part of my Parure series, but marks a new inflection point. Inspired by pendulum mechanisms, it explores what oscillates, what holds in a fragile balance between movement and restraint.
Copper and stainless steel form a minimal geometric alphabet. The shapes - circles, rings, bars - trace out a pattern in space that is both structured and free.
Certain lines and contrasts recall the spirit of Art Deco, whose graphic precision, structured elegance and stylised simplicity I appreciate. Each element seems ready to oscillate, to react to an imperceptible impulse.
It's no longer a piece of jewellery to be worn, but a piece of jewellery in motion, suspended in its own equilibrium. An autonomous piece of jewellery that questions our relationship with what adorns, accompanies or balances us.
