Géomorphose
H27 cm, W22 cm, D4 cm
Walnut, ink, glass, paper
In this work, a section of walnut becomes a territory, a matrix or a palimpsest. The meticulous, organic drawing follows the lines of the wood without constraining them, like writing born of the rings themselves.
Cellular forms, imaginary landscapes, fossil traces or constellations: the motif oscillates between map and memory, between the living and the abstract.
Mounted on a glass plate, the piece seems suspended, like a precious fragment offered to the eye.
The work can be placed or hung on the wall, inviting multiple readings depending on the light, the angle or the mood.
Géomorphose invites us to scrutinise the rhythms of the world, to perceive the slow metamorphoses of the material, and to listen to what the wood has to say when we let it speak.
